Earlier this year the library conducted a user survey asking people to comment on their experience of using the library service.

Over 500 responses were received, with survey respondents providing valuable feedback on topics such as the branches they most regularly visit, the key services used, their level of satisfaction with staff, the range of access options (onsite and online) and resources available.

Information gathered from the survey is available here in two forms:

It is heartening to see that the consistently strong results Libraries have been achieving in wider Port Phillip polls on community satisfaction levels with Council services are echoed here by library users specifically.

Significant numbers of those who responded to the survey are long-term and regular library users; and express a strong level of support for the role the library can play in helping sustain a strong and well informed community.

Feedback gathered from the survey is valuable in Council planning for development and delivery of responsive and effective library services for the community.

The survey results will help us improve the way we do things; with work already underway in some key areas such as reviewing options for accessing library services (opening hours), increasing awareness of the range of resources available onsite and online (improvements to the library catalogue), and planning for improved amenity in branches (particularly at St Kilda).
