The upgraded playground at Morris Reserve, Port Melbourne features giant tennis balls and a large tennis ‘racquet’ with bouncy springs. Kids and adults will love the new timber turtle sculpture walking along the rock river watching over those walking past. Chainsaw sculptor Rob Bast created the piece especially for the playground. There’s also a new fitness equipment piece for a pre-tennis warm up or make it part of your everyday exercise jog or walk. There is temporary fences up to protect the plants while they establish.

This upgraded reserve is an interesting stop over for a quick bounce or swing on the new basket swing.

  • A basket swing for all abilities
  • A fitness equipment piece
  • Trampoline with rubber surfacing referencing the form of a tennis racquet
  • A timber turtle sculpture by a chainsaw artist
  • New path connection past the tennis area
  • New trees and planting to the reserve and embankment
  • Improved drainage

City of Port Phillip heard that there were requests for additional lighting and is currently engaging a lighting designer to complete a design for the park. Funding will be sought in future financial years and subject to Council budget considerations.
