We popped up for conversations with the Balaclava and East St Kilda community yesterday evening to discuss the Council Plan and Budget as well as the Accessibility Action Plan.

It was the first time we we've visited this end of Carlisle St, placed right outside the iconic St Kilda Library. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people happy to take part in conversations as the sun was setting and they were on their way home from work or school.

We heard that most residents we spoke to in this area are supportive of the arts and would like Council to consider not reducing the funding pool for the Cultural Development Fund. We also heard that people are generally happy with the proposal for a reduced rates increase.

Overall, a wonderful evening with some interesting discussions with our passionate community.
