The Victorian Government has released three new residential zones that Council needs to apply across Port Phillip.

The existing Residential 1 and 2 zones will be replaced by one of three new zones.

If your property is in a commercial or mixed use zone, it will not be affected by these changes.

The new zones may change the type of residential development that is allowed in your street and neighbourhood, including specifying Building heights dwelling densities.

Council intends to apply the new zones based on existing Port Phillip Housing Policy. This policy directs the majority of new housing to areas closest to shops, services and public transport – whilst protecting the neighbourhood character of our established residential areas.
