Community Reference Group Selected

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in joining the Our Coastal Future Community Reference Group (CRG).

We were pleased to receive a strong number of high-quality applications from across the City of Port Phillip. This response reflects the community’s deep interest in shaping the future of our coastline and growing awareness of the impacts of climate changes.

To ensure a fair and transparent process, Council engaged an independent consultant to assess all applications. Submissions were evaluated against consistent criteria, including demonstrated knowledge, relevant experience, ability to represent diverse community perspectives, and commitment to collaborative engagement.

Based on the consultant’s recommendations, Council has now finalised the membership of the CRG. The group brings together a range of individuals and representatives from across our community, along with agency stakeholders, who will provide valuable feedback to inform the development of the updated Foreshore Management Plan and Coastal Adaptation Plan.

While the CRG has now been formed, there will be ongoing opportunities for broader community involvement throughout the life of the Our Coastal Future program. These will include online engagement via this Have Your Say page and in-person events held at key project milestones.

Stay tuned for updates and upcoming ways to get involved.
