The City of Port Phillip faces significant parking and traffic congestion challenges now and in the future. By 2050, our city’s population will have almost doubled from its current 105,000 people.

The suburbs of Balaclava, Ripponlea and Elwood already face these challenges with demand for parking and road space far outweighing availability.

We are addressing our growing traffic congestion and parking pressures by supporting walking, bike riding, public transport initiatives and car share schemes.

This parking review aims to make better use of the existing parking resources we have.
