You can now read our engagement report, which summarises what we heard from the community in November and December 2025. We are now developing a concept design while considering your feedback and other factors like cost and site constraints. We look forward to sharing the concept with you later in 2026.

The beloved play space at St Kilda Botanical Gardens is about to get a vibrant new lease on life!

The gardens are a cherished green haven where people come from across our municipality and Melbourne to relax, explore and spend time with friends and family.

We’re thrilled to announce plans for a major upgrade to the play space, designed to be more adventurous, more inclusive and more fun for everyone. Whether you're a child or young person, parent, grandparent or carer, the new design will aim to offer something for a range of age groups and abilities, creating a welcoming space where the whole community can connect, play, and thrive.

Let’s reimagine this space together and make it a true reflection of the many people that come to enjoy the gardens.
