The City of Port Phillip is upgrading Plum Garland Playground. It is the second most utilised playground within the City of Port Phillip and this popular playground is suffering from wear and tear, particularly from the coastal conditions, so is very much in need of an upgrade.

Following onsite and online consultation sessions in 2010/2011 a final plan has been developed for the Plum Garland Memorial Playground Upgrade. To find out more about the community consultation on the upgrade please visit the Plum Garland Playground Upgrade project page.

When will the new Playground be built?

A new shade structure will be erected at Plum Garland and the playground will be fenced to prepare for the new shade structure on Monday 16 April 2012. A tender will soon be awarded for the playground upgrade works which will include new play equipment and landscaping. Works will commence this financial year.

Background

Onsite consultations were held at the playground, located on Beaconsfield Parade at Albert Park (close toVictoria Avenue) on Saturday 2nd October and Thursday 7th October 2010. A survey and online forum was also conducted.

Feedback from the onsite consultation sessions and surveys was collated, and informed the development of the concept plan, which is now available for the community to review and provide comment on.
