Consultation has concluded

The City of Port Phillip’s Foreshore Management Plan guides how we protect, maintain and manage our coastline. We are continually working to improve areas of the foreshore identified in the plan.

Point Ormond Foreshore in Elwood has been identified as a key area to be improved.

We have developed a landscape concept plan to renew and upgrade this section and we would like your feedback to help inform the final design.

What is being upgraded?

Here is a list of what is proposed in the concept plan:

  1. New beach shower.
  2. New drinking fountain.
  3. New picnic seats.
  4. Extra litter bins.
  5. Extra bike hoops.
  6. Improved safety for pedestrians and bike riders.
  7. Reduced sand drift to level grass picnic area.
  8. New path connections to Ormond Esplanade.
  9. Increased shade with new tree planting and garden beds.
  10. Edge wall seating.

Background and next steps

As part of the development of the Foreshore Management Plan, we undertook two and a half years of community consultation. This consultation informed the development of the Point Ormond Foreshore concept plan.

Once we have reviewed your feedback we will develop a final concept design. The final design will be subject to community feedback and future budget approval.
