St kilda Library

Have used the St Kilda library for over 35 years and have spent many happy hours there reading borrowing and enjoying evening book launches and talks plus other activities organised by Port Phillip council. It is an anchor for many people who escape to this oasis as it has a very pleasant comfortable and homely feel about it, and the librarians are always very helpful. However the library itself is in need of a little TLC and a face lift to brighten the interior would be much appreciated

A respite and a destination

Libraries, and especially St Kilda library…

I cannot overstate the library's importance to me and how much I love its stellar maturation over the last 25 years, its very…

A good library that connects well with people and place

I visit the St Kilda library often, to use public access computers and the scanner/copier/printers, to request and borrow books (and sometimes other material), and sometimes to use the work desks. I am very comfortable with the building's distinctive architecture that contributes to the interestingly varied streetscape on Carlisle St (and Duke St). I am very fond of the Mirka Mora mural inside the west wall of the library. As with St Kilda streets, in the library we see many types of people.…
