Thanks to everyone who completed our online survey about live music experiences in Port Phillip! We have reviewed all of the feedback and created an Engagement Summary Report to inform the next stage of this project.

In a 2023 survey, Music Victoria found people aged 16-18 were less likely to attend live music events than older people. The survey also found that young people faced a range of barriers to attending gigs – including cost. Despite this, young people love live music, and say that their first live music experience is a big part of building a passion for music.
We want to find out more about this, and the specific experiences of young people in Port Phillip.

This project is just focused on music fans and audiences. We are hoping to do a future project with musicians. But if you’re a musician and you love listening to music and going to gigs, we hope you’ll participate!
We did have some great live music prizes to win, however all prizes have now been given out.
The information you provided will be used to inform Council and venues about how to improve live music attendance in Port Phillip.
