Proposed change: reduce service

Saving to Council in 2020/21: $175,000

Council receives around $94,000 from VicRoads to undertake parks maintenance, tree maintenance and street sweeping on specific land owned by VicRoads, such as median strips. However, the parks maintenance components of the service alone cost Council $269,000 to undertake the work to the standard expected by our community, meaning we subsidise this service by at least $175,000. VicRoads level of service for these assets is less frequent than what Council provides. In reducing this service, there is likely to be an increase in community dissatisfaction with these areas of our municipality.

What are your thoughts on reducing expenditure on parks maintenance of VicRoads Assets?
