Your input and feedback earlier this year on our priorities for 2015/16 has helped shape this year's Draft Council Plan 2013-17 (Year 3) and Draft Budget 2015/16.

This year's Draft Budget proposes to spend $48.1 million in renewing and upgrading our existing assets, including:


  • drains, roads, footpaths and laneways ($9.5 million)
  • St Kilda Life Saving Club redevelopment ($2.2 million)
  • Alma Park pavilion replacement ($1.7 million)
  • Fitzroy Street streetscape improvements ($1.4 million)
  • street tree improvements ($690,000)
  • repair of Beacon Cove foreshore promenade ($915,000)
  • public toilets ($600,000)
  • ensuring the vibrancy of our local villages and places ($235,000).

We have also allocated funding to progress other key priorities such as:

  • Palais Theatre repairs ($3.5 million)
  • St Kilda Triangle design and detailed business case for investment ($700,000)
  • Planning for growth in our municipality, including how we best manage the movement of people in a constrained transport network ($1.4 million).

Submissions can be made until Thursday 4 June 2015, and will be considered at a Council Meeting on 23 June 2015.
