To implement the planning initiatives of the draft Bay Street Major Activity Centre Structure Plan, Council has prepared Amendment C103 to the Port Phillip Planning Scheme.

Planning Scheme Amendment C103 includes:

• a local policy for the Bay Street Major Activity Centre that reflects the vision and strategic content of the Plan
• rezoning sections of the ‘Opportunity Precincts’ to give effect to land use directions for the centre
• new and revised built form and heritage controls to facilitate remaining growth opportunities, and improve protection of existing residential areas and heritage places
• preferred character statements for established residential areas adjacent to the activity centre.
