Council is exploring a trial to extend how much of Armstrong Street is closed to traffic during the F1 Australian Grand Prix 2026. We are excited to work together with local businesses to make the street lively and welcoming for people from near and far, to give businesses more chances to be seen and attract customers. Share your ideas to help make this street closure work for everyone in our community.

What is already decided:

• Closing Armstrong Street at Canterbury Road (this happens as part of the Grand Prix every year)
  
• Closing Armstrong Street from Canterbury Road to Canterbury Place
• Grand Prix dates, events, and main road closures etc.
  
• Middle Park Hotel activation. Other traders may choose to participate in their own way with level of involvement being determined by each business.
• Council spending for road closures, bins and toilets
