We’ve prepared a draft Urban Forest Precinct Plan (UFPP) for St Kilda and St Kilda West.
This draft Plan aims to guide and prioritise future tree planting and biodiversity projects to create a healthy, diverse and connected urban forest across these suburbs. It supports the delivery of Urban Forest Strategy 2024-2040.
We’re now asking for your feedback on the draft plan.
Your feedback will shape improvements to the draft Urban Forest Precinct Plan for St Kilda and St Kilda West before it goes to Council for endorsement.
Some parts of the project cannot be changed, including:
- Whether there is a draft Urban Forest Precinct Plan (UFPP) for St Kilda / St Kilda West
- Project timeline and budget
We are keen to hear your ideas. Your feedback will be considered along with other important factors like cost, how practical something is, and expert advice. This will help us create the best outcome for everyone.
The Urban Forest Precinct Plan has been developed by LatStudios and the City of Port Phillip, with research from the Swinburne Institute of Technology Walk Quality project. The Walk Quality project looks at how easy and safe it is for people to walk in the area. It studies street conditions and suggests ways to make walking more comfortable. It also identifies streets that are used a lot but have little shade, making them a high priority for more tree planting.
