The purpose of the Urban Forest Precinct Plan (UFPP) is to guide tree planting and biodiversity projects so we can meet the goals of the Urban Forest Strategy. The plan is to create healthy, diverse and connected trees and green areas in the neighbourhood.

This UFPP focuses on the St Kilda and St Kilda West neighbourhood, one of nine neighbourhoods in the City of Port Phillip (CoPP).

The UFPP has been developed by LatStudios and the City of Port Phillip, with research from the Swinburne Institute of Technology Walk Quality project. The Walk Quality project looks at how easy and safe it is for people to walk in the area. It studies street conditions and suggests ways to make walking more comfortable. It also identifies streets that are used a lot but have little shade, making them a high priority for more tree planting.
