Update 30 October 2024: Read our Engagement Report

Thank you to everyone who completed our online survey about health and wellbeing in Port Phillip. We have now reviewed all of your feedback and created a report to inform the next stages of the project.

We heard from approximately 176 community members and 14 stakeholders, who told us their top three health priorities are:

  1. Increasing housing/rental affordability and homelessness support
  2. Increasing active living
  3. Increasing social connection/reducing isolation.

About the project

Every four years, we develop a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (often referred to as the ‘Health and Wellbeing Plan’) which forms part of our Council Plan. The Health and Wellbeing Plan guides how we work together with community members, organisations and groups to improve health and wellbeing for Port Phillip residents.

Engagement for the Health and Wellbeing Plan and Council Plan will take place in 2025, but before then we wanted to hear more about your health and wellbeing needs and priorities.

Take the survey to tell us which 'health priority areas' are most important to you over the next four years.

We know that lots of things affect people's health. Things like where we live, work, and play matter. Not everyone has the same chances to be healthy. That's why the 'health priority areas' we're focusing on have been kept broad. They have been developed based on the State Public Health and Wellbeing Plan as well as other regional plans.

Share your ideas about how health and wellbeing can be improved for our community, as well as what you would like in the future. Your feedback will be considered, along with research and expert advice, to help shape what Council focuses on over the next four years.

What aren't we asking about?

  • Issues outside of Port Phillip
  • Issues that do not relate to health and wellbeing

We are seeking feedback from:

  • Port Phillip community members and residents
  • community organisations and groups
  • service providers and health and wellbeing partners
  • Council advisory committee members
