This consultation has concluded.

Thanks to everyone who completed our online survey about the proposed pedestrian bridge over Queens Road, Melbourne. We were seeking community feedback on two possible locations for the bridge: Arthur Street or Hanna Street (South side).

Consultation to date

In April 2011 Council conducted a survey of the community to gauge their interest in a pedestrian bridge overQueens Road. We received 277 responses of which 84.9% said that they would use a bridge if it was constructed.

Based on that feedback a report was requested by Council to investigate possible locations, site constraints, concept designs and estimated costs. Council contracted GHD to undertake the preliminary investigation and their report was finalised in June 2012 and reported to Council. You can read their concept design report here.

Councillors then requested a second survey be conducted to gauge the communities support for the two locations identified in the report, Arthur Street and Hanna Street.

This survey closed on 2 September 2012. We received over 300 responses, via the on line survey and emails to the project manager regarding the pedestrian bridge proposal.

The results of this survey are currently being analysed and will be used to inform a Council report which will be presented to Council after the 2012 Council election.
