In May and June 2019, Council asked the community how they used the Park and for ideas to improve it.

We ran a drop-in session in the park to receive feedback directly. We also received input through Council’s online Have Your Say page, social media posts on Facebook and Twitter

You can read the full community engagement report here.

During the consultation we received:

  • 263 unique page visitors
  • 85 responses to the survey
  • over 20 community members to the onsite drop in sessions

How you use the park

  • recreation and leisure activities
  • the play space
  • as a thoroughfare (getting from one place to another)

Improvements you'd like to see

  • Increasing the diversity in playground equipment to better cater to a range of abilities and ages
  • maintaining a social function in the space for the local community and improving sitting and gathering opportunities
  • incorporating nature-based play opportunities
  • retaining the existing natural assets of the playground such as the trees and open lawn space.

These ideas were used to develop the draft concept design for the park.
