Thank you for your interest in this project. The recent stage of community consultation has concluded.
The City of Port Phillip is made up of distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own character. As our City grows these unique characteristics could be at risk and, without action, valued heritage places could be lost.
Heritage means different things to different people. Often what our community values is not covered by current heritage protection, but is important because of the traditions, experiences and values it represents.
From May through to July 2018 we conducted a City wide consultation in to what places, traditions or events are important to you.
During the consultation, 25 per cent of survey respondents commented on planning controls and guidelines.
We have used this feedback to review our current heritage policy and develop new heritage design guidelines. You can provide feedback on these documents by visiting Updating our Local Heritage Policy before 5 August 2019.
In response to other feedback we are also working on several other heritage review projects in a bid to systematically improve our heritage provisions.
