The City of Port Phillip is working with the Victorian Government to redevelop the J.L. Murphy Reserve pavilion. The scope of the project is to increase participation in sport by providing accessible, unisex change rooms and amenities for all.

The upgraded and extended pavilion will include additional change rooms, enabling all current sports grounds at J.L. Murphy Reserve to be used simultaneously. It will provide a more functional community room and kitchen for the clubs and community to use.

The City of Port Phillip developed a concept design after extensive consultation with tenant clubs and other stakeholders.

Next steps

In January 2019, work commenced on the redevelopment of the J. L. Murphy Reserve pavilion.

Temporary facilities, including public toilets have been installed so the reserve can continue to be enjoyed during the redevelopment.

The upgraded pavilion is scheduled for completion by April 2020.
